High Fructose Corn Syrup: Contaminant of Emerging Concern?
How is high fructose corn syrup metabolized in the body and what are the toxic effects associated with consuming high concentrations?
Preventing Methylmercury Exposures
What are some solutions to preventing more individuals from getting Minamata Disease? Here is a paper proposing ways to reduce methylmercury exposure.
Produce Protection Peel
Wildfire Smoke in Strawberry Fields

IMRAD Article Analysis
Communicate a scientific concept to a special-needs learner
Podcast Interview
Reading peer-reviewed scientific articles requires understanding the introduction, methods, results, and discussion (IMRAD) of the paper. I analyze Liu et al.'s Particulate Air Pollution from Wildfires in the Western US under Climate Change (2016).
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) challenges a person's communication, social, and behavioral skills. Here, I present a learning strategy to teach a child with ASD about climate change.
Podcasts are convenient tools to educate and discuss both lay and professional audiences about a topic. Listen to this podcast interview to learn about Dr. David Cleveland's background and work!

Infographics are useful in teaching people about a topic in a quick and creative way. Check out my infographic about the greenhouse effect.
For my Writing 159A course, we chose an area of expertise that we would focus on for the quarter. Find out what topic I chose!
Communicating how air particles move in the atmosphere to a lay audience is difficult. Using QGIS, I took the US EPA's air quality data on the Thomas Fire's peak daily PM2.5 concentration and illustrated the distribution and populations affected.
Although vaping is deemed to be safer than cigarettes, there are still detrimental health effects to the respiratory system. Check out this infographic to see how toxicants can enter the body and into your blood.

Look out for more materials soon!
To illustrate how monarch butterflies are affected by climate change, I am creating a video about the Goleta Butterfly Grove and its impact on mental health.
For Writing 150: Writing Internship, I was required to compile the work I've been doing for the UCSB Healthy Beverage Initiative.
