Over the weekend, i went to Three Rivers with Michael's family and we ate at multiple restaurants. It was difficult to avoid creating pointless waste like napkins and utensils held by a piece of paper with adhesive. The reason I didn't want to use them was because I was positive that the restaurant doesn't sort their waste properly. Plus, the napkins/paper items are contaminated with food so the restaurant can't technically recycle them. It was particularly harder to eat food when all we had were snacks with a bunch of packaging. So instead of choosing a granola bar, I chose a bag of nuts. That way, I was purposely deciding to not succumb to the easy disposable items.

I've started to waste more than when I first started. Looking at my mason jar and the items I've thrown away because of my last shopping trip made me realize that unsustainable materials are EVERYWHERE. You just can't get away! It's even harder that the city of SB doesn't recycle anything other than PLA 1 & 2 and there are a lack of industrial composting.
